Then, the husband asked, "How much grass do I need to cut to prepare the field?" His wife replied, "About the size of a palm should be enough." Baw Tau went out to prepare the field and cut the grass. He really cut just the size of a palm and returned home. The next day, his wife went to the field, and she asked, "Well, where is the field you prepared?" The husband replied, "The place you're standing on right now." The wife was shocked. "Oh, Baw Tau! You foolish man, the size of a palm was just a metaphor!" "I meant a field that's not too big or too small!" Then the two of them cut the grass again, to the right size, and burned the field to prepare it. One day, after the field was prepared, his wife said to him again, "Today, go build a hut in the field." "If there's no hut, I won't do any fieldwork." The husband asked again, "How big should the hut be?" His wife replied, "About the size of a crab's shell." Baw Tau went out to the field to build a hut. But instead of building a hut, he spent the entire day catching crabs in a pond. He caught a large crab, cooked and ate the meat, and placed only the shell on a tree stump before returning home. The next day, his wife came to the field and asked, "Where is the hut you built?" The husband replied, "I left it on the stump, but maybe a crow took it." The wife exclaimed, "Oh, Baw Tau! You're so foolish!" "When I said the size of a crab's shell," "I meant a hut that's neither too big nor too small!" "That's enough! Let's go home!" She left the field. One day, as the wife was on her way to the field, she encountered a bear on the road. Shocked and unsure of what to do, she placed the basket she was carrying over the bear's head and cut it down with her sword. She brought the bear back home and thought to herself, "I need to build a good reputation for my husband." "If my husband's reputation improves, my own standing will improve too." She then said to her husband, "Dear, tell everyone that you were the one who killed this bear." Following his wife's words, he went around the village telling everyone that he had killed the bear. The villagers praised him, and his story spread quickly. His fame grew day by day, and even reached the ears of villagers who were troubled by a tiger. "Hey, I heard there's a strong man named Baw Tau in the neighboring village, who even managed to kill a bear!" "Our village is constantly attacked by a tiger, and we can't keep livestock at all." "Let's ask this Baw Tau for help, and see if he can defeat the tiger!" they said. Everyone agreed, and they went to Baw Tau to ask for his help. When they arrived, they asked him to defeat the tiger that was troubling their village. Baw Tau, though scared, felt good as the villagers praised him. Feeling encouraged, he agreed to help them. When he arrived at the village, he asked, "Which direction does the tiger come from?" The villagers replied, "From over there, in the bamboo grove, around sunset." "That's how it always appears!" Upon hearing this, Baw Tau cut down enough bamboo to make space for himself, and hid in the bamboo grove in advance. He hid because he was terrified of being bitten and eaten by the tiger. He stayed hidden deep in the bamboo grove. As night fell, his body began to tremble. Shaking with fear, he waited in hiding. Late at night, the tiger finally appeared. The tiger came near the bamboo grove, caught the scent of a human, and circled around the grove searching for him. Baw Tau, hiding deep inside the grove, was not found by the tiger, no matter how hard it searched. Frustrated, the tiger inserted its tail into the bamboo grove to probe around. When the tiger's tail reached Baw Tau, he was so terrified that he grabbed the tail as tightly as he could, wrapped it around the bamboo, and tied it securely. With its tail tied up, the tiger couldn't move at all. At that moment, Baw Tau slowly emerged from the grove and called out to the villagers, "I've tied up the tiger!" "Come and kill it!" The villagers came and shot the tiger that Baw Tau had tied up. Peace finally returned to the village. Baw Tau's fame grew even more, and his wife's standing rose even higher.
