Description: | Translation (Rita Seng Mai) A long time ago, the Shan people lived in the plain area before the Jinghpaw people arrived. There were mountains surrounded the plain area where the Shan people lived. The three Shan women went out to find food. One of the women saw a big egg somewhere in the forest and took it back to the village. Then three of them went back to the village. The lady who found the egg had a grandchild. The three women took the egg to the village. The egg was so big that all the villagers could eat it. The villagers ate the egg. They all ate it together. Nearby, there was a Jinghpaw woman who lived on the hill. Only she didn't eat the egg. Her grandson licked the leaves where the egg had been placed. He licked the leaves that the villagers threw away. Their dog also licked the leftover egg. Only the Jinghpaw woman and the cow didn't eat it. The next day after they ate the egg, the area where the Shan people lived began to collapse. The Jinghpaw woman also tried to escape from the land collapsing. She ran toward the hill. As she stepped, the ground kept caving in. However, she eventually managed to escape. To this day, there is a place called Nawng Lut, where the Shan people lived.
