Description:		Pstone supports an assignment, typically taking 2 to 4 hours, which gives students: 1.respect for the complexity and idiosyncrasy of English syntax, 2.a sense of the trade-offs faced by grammar writers: low ambiguity, high coverage, simplicit y, etc. 3.the desire to learn about alternative and complementary theories and methods. Pstone includes 1.a context-free parser 2.a corpus of 66 sentences annotated with parse trees 3.programs allowing evaluation of results, by visual comparison of trees produced by a student grammar with the "correct" parse trees 4.some supporting tools 5.documentation: an overview and the assignment.
